Album Release and 15-Year-Anniversary Concert
Saturday, December 8th 2012, 8:00 PM
Logan Arts Center Performance Hall

Fifteen years ago, on a chilly autumn day in 1997, two young women at the University of Chicago came together for a noble cause. United in rebellion against traditional all-female groups, they began a great quest to create a group that allowed women to be whatever they wanted, without limitation, challenging the world's expectations. They performed with raunchiness, with sass, and with grit.

And three years ago, in the fall of 2009, their successors began working towards an album, to challenge what the world expects out of recorded all-female a cappella. Recorded in various apartments around campus and mixed/mastered by renowned professionals, this album, "Late Nights, Parades," has already seen acclaim - its first single was chosen to appear on national compilation album, Voices Only 2011, and won the 2012 Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award for Best Female Arrangement.

And this fall, we will celebrate the passion and vivacity of fifteen years of dedicated and talented Men in Drag, as well as the hard work and delicious product of these three years of album-making.

It's up to YOU to determine how epicly we celebrate.

Join us for a celebratory concert, featuring:

-The current generation of your favorite badass ladies in drag,

-Our dashing alumnae, who will join us in singing "Seven" by Prince (the first song that Men in Drag ever performed),

-Washington University's epic and award-winning all-male group, The Stereotypes,

-Our resident circus and performative arts group, Le Vorris & Vox Circus,

-and UChicago's edgy and innovative hip-hop dance troupe, PhiNix.

After the concert, you're invited to join us in the Logan Arts Center 9th floor Penthouse for a classy afterparty, complete with hors d'oeuvres, wine (must provide ID), hugs, our families, a delightful view of Lake Michigan, The Dirt Red Brass Band (providing a jumpin' jivin' hot rowdy brass band explosion!), and probably some tears.

$7 for show + afterparty

$15 for show + afterparty + physical copy of "Late Nights, Parades"

Will go on sale soon - stay tuned for more information!

[And after the afterparty... you're invited to join us for the after-afterparty at 5508 S Cornell Ave, Apt #3.]

No Men. Occasional Drag. Always Yours.
